Santopétar is a hamlet of the white mountain village Tabero, a typical “Velez Blanco” like many others throughout the south of Spain.

Located in the Sierra de las Estancias, the lands are covered with almond trees, olive plantations and citrus orchards. The desolate landscape reminds of the Far West and has appealed to different moviemakers. They shot different western movies like “the Good, the Bad & the Ugly”, “For a Few Dollars More” and much more.

The surroundings was also used in the different Indiana Jones movies. Until today large productions companies choose the cities and landscapes as the scenery for major productions like “Game of Thrones”. Some of the sets and locations can be visited in the theme park – Mini Hollywood – 40 minutes’ drive away.

The Costa Almeria can be reached by car in less than 30 minutes.  The beaches of San Juan De Los Terreros, Villaricos and Vera are little untouched parts of paradise. In the typical restaurants, bars and bistros you can taste one or more of the famous Spanish Tapas or you can quench your thirst with refreshing beverages. If you get the change try the local speciality “The Cordero” (Leg of lamb).
